Anything, even $5, would help. If you cannot donate (totally understood - it's been a rough winter on everyone), could you please signal-boost?

Nicole is a co-worker of mine. Two weeks ago her husband kissed her goodbye, left for work, and never came home again. She became a single parent of two daughters in an afternoon, and there is a non-zero possibility that after losing her husband, she may lose her house as well. This is a funding page set up by her SIL: even $5 will help, and sharing the page would be WONDERFUL and deeply appreciated.

Wyrding Studios needs a massive signal boost, effective immediately.
Last month, my spouse unilaterally broke up with me after nearly 14 years of marriage. I am not going to discuss why here, or in any other public forum. For now, we are continuing to live together as co-parents and housemates, but that may have to change.
Some of you already know how I feel about my beloved house, art studio, and gardens. I have worked very hard to make my home safe space and sanctuary for myself and other artists. I am not going anywhere unless I have absolutely no other choice.
For nearly ten years, Wyrding Studios has been my sole source of income, in part because I live with multiple chronic illnesses that severely limit my ability to work outside the home. Even if I found a job that could accommodate my physical issues, it would pay considerably less and likely force me to permanently close WS.
I am asking for your help so that does not happen.
Wyrding Studios has always been a business driven primarily by repeat customers and word-of-mouth recommendations. I am so profoundly grateful to everyone who has come back year after year to buy more of my jewelry as my work evolved and changed, to everyone who has told their friends and family about my website, to everyone who has asked me to collaborate on projects or design custom pieces for special occasions.
Miles starts school full-time in the fall. I plan to spend the summer bringing WS back to financial self-sufficiency. I have a number of new projects and product lines planned for the next few months. I am working on improving my turnaround and response times, and just generally making as much of the best art that I possibly can, because, in the words of my mentor and colleague Elise Matthesen, art is a great goodness.
Here’s what you can do to help.
Start by signal boosting this post far and wide. Tell your friends, families, and co-workersabout my jewelry. Post links to items in the store to social media - Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, whatever you use.
Tell them they can use coupon code SIGNALBOOST to take 10% off any order of $30 or more through August 30th. You can use it too if you want, any time you order between now and then. It's good on anything except subscriptions.
Most importantly, just tell people I'm here. Tell people I've been here for a long time, and I'm not going anywhere for a long time, and that I would love to make jewelry for them. Because that's true. I want to keep making art, even out of this darkness.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN, MY PRECIOUS
* Rumors abound about an Angus medieval sword-and-sorcery game?
* I have been lucky enough to hear about a new Mac game, possibly with a crossover fantasy/tech theme? DO NOT PRESUME I AM NOT ALREADY BUILDING A TEAM BASED ON COARSE HEARSAY
* A certain Jeff of my acquaintance has been hinting that I might be permitted to Staff for him, a game whose theme and arc I cannot divulge at this time, BUT I MOCK YOU WITH ANYWAY YAY
What else is out there? What have you heard? *smacks the vein*

After a rocky start and a whole lot of confusion, there appears to be a Thing Called Invictus. And, thank god, it has an FAQ, which addresses a mess of "Snuh?" -issues I had with the concept. (Slavery? Real World vs Fantasy Version Thereof? But Wait, I Am A Girl, Can I Play Too?)
(Why do I suddenly care? Because
As she wrote elsewhere...
Just revamped the Invictus website, as a part of the relaunch. Check it! We're doing a free RP day (well, with contained combat, because reasons) on November 16th at Camp Eagle Pass. If you're interested in playing or NPCing, we'd love to have you! If not, please pass the link around, or at least toss a Like on the Invictus FB page. The staff have put a ton of work into building this game, we have an amazing group of NPCs and players, and we really want to see the game grow. Thanks, everyone.
(...and did I hear a rumor that you can get Clockwork Skies CP from helping out this game? YES, YES I THINK I DID.)
So. HIE YE FORTH. Post, link, tell me if you're PCing or NPCing. Because tears. I was promised tears. :D

Due to low NPC turnout last event, we're capping the PCs to 55 (instead of 65) until and unless we get sufficient NPC pre-registrations, and I'm trying to spread the word before PC pre-registration tomorrow (September 18th at 8:00PM).
Thanks! :)
I recently had a conversation with a dear one who had been staffing LARPs for awhile, who then PCd for the first time in a LONG time. They found themselves quite discombobulated, and while they engaged with a lot of stuff, found themselves not having an awesome time because they had "forgotten how to PC" - something I, too, suffered with in recent times!
So, I open the floor to you, O Best Beloveds, particularly those of you that have been LARPing for awhile, and have to make the transition between PC and NPC/staff regularly. How do you PC, in such a way to increase awesome, and decrease suck?
Extra credit for advice on how to turn "Plot Brain" / "Game Mechanics Brain" off!

I am well used to hitting up Etsy, Ebay, Armstreet, etc. for costumes of the Pretty Dress -sort. However, I am starting to need Specific LARPy Costumes, which are much harder to find (and when you do, they're often Not Quite Right and very expensive).
With the understanding that Donation CP Does Not Transfer... are there any Clockwork players which are all about the costumes-for-CP, or general LARPy types to whom I could give Real US Tender Moneys to make shit go, going forward? (Working Paypal addresses a plus.)
Trying to create a list for future pingage, so as to not overwhelm my current peeps.
Thank you!

Fred McFeely Rogers was a Presbyterian minister and educator, widely known as Mr. Rogers on the children's television show "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood." He taught children for decades that each one of them is special and treated everyone with kindness and respect.
We the people would like to see a holiday dedicated to our kind neighbor, Mr. Rogers, on his date of birth, March 20th.
This thing needs 98,698 signatures by April 15, 2013: that's a LOT in a very short amount of time, but I have faith that the Powers Of The Internet can make it happen. Please, consider signing and passing it on?

Although some of these images might look like a modern day photography and some of them like painted pictures, actually it is real colored photographies, taken at the beginning of the 20th century Paris (France). It is extremely astonishing to look at the world now long gone, the world which you are used to see in black & white images and often with poor quality.
All the images shown below were taken using Autochrome Lumière technology. It's an early color photography process, patented in 1903 and invented by the famous French Auguste and Louis Lumière, populary known as Lumière Brothers. They were the earliest filmmakers in history.
So, here it is! The city of love: the streets, the architecture, the people, interiors and grand events – all of them in their true colors.
...it has a lot more outdoor shots than close-up clothing shots, but is still pretty darn cool nonetheless. :)

Corset Story has a surprisingly awesome collection of Steampunky Corsets (and related costume), on SALE at the moment.
(Caveat: I have it on good authority that these guys run a size smaller than expected, so expect to pop a size up unless you have experience with their stuff. But! Pretty! Cheap! Supposedly ship quite quickly!)
